That’s why you can rely on Mr Deshmukh, an expert cataract surgeon in London to deliver your cataract surgery. A cataract is an opacity (or cloudiness) in the lens of the eye. This cloudiness develops inside the lens and restricts light passing through the eye and reaching the retina. When this occurs, vision is affected. An opacity can be quite minor or it can become so marked that it prevents adequate vision. Cataract removal is one of the most common eye operations performed in the UK today. It is also one of the safest and most effective, and is successful in over 98% of cases. If you have a question or would like to book an appointment, please contact our friendly specialist team.

My gratitude to Mr Deshmukh and his team My Both eyes cataract removal with lens exchange to correct vision has been carried out recently by Consultant ophthalmic surgeon Mr Ragesh Deshmukh in the private patient unit at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He also carried out follow-up consultations after the operation, the results were excellent for both eyes. I cannot believe I no longer need one after 40 years of using spectacles! I am thrilled with his excellent surgical ability. I am grateful for the exceptional care and skill Mr. Deshmukh and his team demonstrated in this matter. I also thank Ms Paula Jessup for her effort in arranging the timetables and all communications in this process.

Cataract surgery
Just over three weeks ago I had bilateral cataract surgery and installation of trifocal lenses. The whole process was easy and very professionally handled. I can honestly say that the surgery itself was pleasant and relaxed - if you’re putting it off because you’re nervous - don’t be!

Beautiful deep colours again!
I had cataract surgery carried out on both eyes one week apart. I opted for the EDOF replacement lenses, which give excellent distance and intermediate vision. This has corrected the astigmatism in both eyes and I now have 20/20 vision. I can clearly see the dashboard and satnav on my car without glasses! I only need +1.0 for reading small print. Mr Deshmukh and his team were very thorough and professional. The entire operation was carried out very smoothly. I would highly recommend Mr Deshmukh to anyone needing cataract surgery and would also recommend the EDOF lenses.

We only give best care to your Eyes.
I can 100% recommend Mr. Rajesh Deshmukh for eye surgery. Mr. Deshmukh performed a cataract operation on my right eye during March 2024 and on my left eye eleven weeks later. In each case, it would have been possible to drive within two days after the operation. I drove after six days, as I do not drive every day. I can now read a car number plate at 63 metres. His whole medical team was very good at reducing my anxiety prior to the operations, which were painless. In each case, I would not have known that my eye had undergone an operation, other than the effects of the pupil dilation drops taking a full 24 hours to completely diminish. Before the operation, my eyes exceeded the legal requirement for driving, but the possibility of not being able to drive in the future was never going to be acceptable to me. I believe we forget how good our eyes once were, as changes happen very slowly over a very long time-period.
I went in to see Mr. Deshmukh for YAG surgery virtually blind in my left eye and left with perfect vision. Amazing! And all in the space of a couple of hours... Highly recommended!
In brief, experienced an excellent doctor-patient relationship. Felt to be in expert hands by whom I could feel to have a safe and successful surgery. And indeed it was.
I cannot recommend Mr Deshmukh, his colleagues and Moorfields Private Eye Hospital highly enough - the whole experience has been incredible and I am almost unable to believe the outcome - having had months of deteriorating vision while trying to get a proper diagnosis, once I attended Moorfields Private and met Mr Deshmukh I was reassured and confident that a resolution was possible. I had virtually lost the vision in one eye, and had impaired vision in the other, was unable to drive, to read and latterly to use a computer or see the television. Prior to these problems I had worn rigid contact lenses for 48 years. Following replacement lens treatment with EDOF lenses I am now able to see better than since my teenage years - I do not need glasses at all, thanks to Mr Deshmukh.
From the very first consultation for my cataracts, I felt confident I was in safe hands. Mr Deshmukh fully explained the options and his recommendations for my consideration. My decision was for EDOF bilateral surgery and my confidence was more than justified as the procedure went very well with no discomfort at all. Despite wearing the eye shields after the operation, I was immediately aware I could see so clearly. My poor eyesight was adversely affecting my life and general well being. Thanks to Mr Deshmukh, I no longer need glasses and have extremely good long and short vision. More importantly my world is brighter.
